Tarleton counseling program receives CACREP accreditation
Tarleton’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling recently received accreditation through the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
CACREP accreditation recognizes university counseling programs that meet the standards set by the profession and is among the highest commendations that an academic program can receive. CACREP is the training standard for counselors by the Institute of Medicine and the Veteran’s Administration.
“Obtaining CACREP accreditation affirms our commitment to excellence and identifies our master’s program as one of the best in Texas, even the nation,” said Dr. Julie Merriman, head of Tarleton’s Department of Counseling.
